Why only the eastern route?
The western section of Straße des 17. Juni is currently blocked due to major construction work. The grid operator 50Hertz is installing the so-called “Berlin Cable Diagonal” – an important infrastructure project for the energy transition. That’s why the parade will take place exclusively on the eastern part of the route.
Why no stage at the Victory Column?
Back in the days of the Berlin Love Parade, there used to be a central stage at Großer Stern. Unfortunately, that’s no longer possible for the Rave The Planet Parade.
There are several reasons – including major safety and financial hurdles, but also because the monument is managed by a public-private operating company that no longer allows events or demonstrations like ours. The area is administered under a Public Private Partnership (PPP), where commercial interests often outweigh community-focused use.
We truly regret this, but we’re staying solution-oriented: Instead of one central stage, we’re going for an open and decentralized setup – with mobile floats that are all stages themselves. Right in the streets, right in the crowd.
This keeps our demonstration flexible, inclusive, and accessible – just the way it should be for a non-profit movement like ours.
Starting Points of the Floats
For this year’s parade, all floats will again be lined up along Straße des 17. Juni from the very beginning – in both directions between Brandenburg Gate and Großer Stern.
The parade moves in a pendulum-like motion: turning around just before the Brandenburg Gate, then heading back westward.
After the opening rally, the music will start and the floats will begin to move.
