How does a parade float actually come to life? What makes for a strong application? And how do you move from an initial idea to a solid concept and ultimately to the finished build?

At the joint Satellite Event by Rave The Planet and Culturama at Future of Festivals 2025, you’ll get a compact, hands-on look at exactly these topics. Please note: This talk will be held in German.

This session is for everyone planning a parade float for the Rave The Planet Parade 2026 – IMAGINE LOVE, or anyone thinking about joining for the first time.

What to Expect

Under the title “HOW TO: Parade Float – From First Idea to Real-World Production for 2026”, Claudia Schneider (rave the planet gGmbH) and Milan Heimbucher (Culturama) offer a practical, experience-based look into creating parade floats and preparing a strong application. They’ll show how a spark of inspiration becomes a workable concept, which structural and technical requirements matter, and how to plan production in a realistic, team-friendly way.

Culturama took part in the Rave The Planet Parade in 2023 and 2024 with their red London Routemaster — the iconic Culturama Bus. At Future of Festivals, the bus becomes the shared booth for Rave The Planet and Culturama, and it also sets the stage for this Satellite Event.

There, the crew will share insights from two years of float participation: What worked well in the concept and production? What challenges came up in logistics, team structure, safety, and technical planning? And what learnings can other crews directly apply to their own float ideas?

You’ll also hear from Rave The Planet about what makes a standout application for the 2026 Parade. Claudia Schneider will outline the key content and organizational points that matter — and how you can present your own ideas clearly, creatively, and convincingly.

After the talk, a Q&A session gives you space to ask specific questions, get feedback, and gather final inspiration for your own projects.
