Why a new Parade?

“When will the Love Parade return?”

Addressed to its inventor, Dr. Motte, inquiries like this have been pouring in for years already. There seems to be a huge longing for its return. And to be honest: if it doesn’t come back now, then when should it?

We are reinventing the parade for the 21st century and have developed its old concept in many aspects. Electronic music and art define the content. Attendees and artists of all genres demonstrate the contemporary culture.

Money from sponsors or funding institutions has no influence on the demonstration and its organization. The safety concept and strategies for environmental protection and waste avoidance have already been prepared.

We are many and want to show that

Electronic music and club culture can look back on a history of more than 30 years. It is a living culture and with the new parade we want to create a lighthouse of international significance.

We would like to positively strengthen the image of electronic dance music and make its diversity openly and freely accessible to all people. Without barriers such as door policy, admission or night-time going out. In this way we want to achieve that our culture and venues receive the same recognition in society as so-called “high culture”, e.g. theaters, concert halls etc.

At the same time, we demand more rights and more protection for our clubs and festivals from politicians. They are much more than dance halls or places of entertainment. They are places of intercultural exchange in which the spirit of Peace, Love, Unity & Respect finds its expression. They are protected spaces where people can try out their freedom, creativity and individuality. We would like to inspire the creation of such places worldwide.

We are a culture of diversity. Our scene consists of many genres and varieties, collectives, groups, individualists… All these facets together form the big picture:

Together we are the electronic music culture.

Today Berlin is considered the capital of electronic dance music. From here and cities like Detroit, Chicago and London it spread around the world and can now be heard, danced and experienced everywhere. We would like to create an officially recognized holiday for our culture. The new parade, followed by a street festival on the Straße des 17. Juni, will be the annual ceremony for this.
