Fundraving for Music and Club Culture
Our unique fundraising model
“When will the Love Parade return?” Addressed to its inventor, Dr. Motte, inquiries like this have been pouring in for years already. There seems to be a huge longing for its return. And to be honest: if it doesn’t come back now, then when should it?
Isn’t our world currently in urgent and particular need of more joy, more peace, more solidarity – more love? Only one answer is possible: Yes! With Rave The Planet, we want to bring back both the parade and its original spirit. With a new overall concept and financial independence from sponsors. That’s why we have developed this special fundraising model that you are looking at right now: We call it “FUNDRAVING”!
This model is intended to secure financing, while at the same time functioning as a mood barometer. It shows public interest and demand, as the fuller it gets and the faster it fills up the more clearly you can see how much the world really wants the new parade. So, when it actually does take place depends entirely on the success of the Fundraving.
That is why we are asking you, and the whole world, the big question: Do you want the new parade?
Here's how it works:
1. Donate anything from €5 up for a model figure of your choice. >Click<
2. We'll place your figure on the Fundraving model in Berlin.
3. Now you're a FUNDRAVER!
Become part of a growing, colorful movement and help us to make the dream of the new parade come true. Let's rave the planet!
In our online donation shop, you can donate anything from €5 up for a model figure. Over 80% of your donation will be spent directly on charitable purposes. There are several different categories, such as ravers on the street or on streetlamps, trees, floats etc. This allows you to play an active role in shaping the model as well as to freely select the amount of your contribution.
The goal is to set up as many as 1.5 million mini ravers and to make the dream of a new parade come true. For you, for us, and for the whole world, because: We are one family!
We are a non-profit organization. Most importantly, this one point already serves to distinguish us from the parades of the past. Furthermore, we are positioning ourselves financially independent of sponsors. Being able to realize the parade basically free of advertising is really important to us. We are only promoting our electronic music culture, including clubs, labels, artists, live acts, DJ’s etc. To sum it up: the cultural workers, who are the representatives of electronic music and the scene.
We’re adopting the basic principles of the Berlin Love Parade and sticking to its true spirit.
What does the Fundraving model look like?
We have built a model – 48 meters in length — of an empty Straße des 17. Juni in Berlin, which was the route of the former parade between Ernst-Reuter-Platz and the Brandenburg Gate, with the Victory Column at its center. The model is scaled at 1:87 (size H0). Entrance is free and it is open around the clock to the public.
In total, there are three phases of construction which will open one after the other, whenever one is full:
At each head end of our model, there are two freight containers which have been welded together to form one room. The model-making workshop, where every donated figure is glued onto tiles, and the donation shop are situated at one end. Supporter shirts and other great items, for example, can be purchased there. Of most interest is that the price of each article includes a fixed fundraising amount.
Our model is set up in a place that has already written techno history: in the garden of the first Tresor Club, opposite the German Bundesrat and thus on one of Berlin’s main arteries, Leipziger Straße.
Why a new parade?
We want to create a genuine, lasting and holistic added value for all cultural workers in our scene. Aiming to positively strengthen the image of club culture, the new parade should again give our culture a guiding light that encompasses immense international appeal.
Moreover, on the political level, we are demanding more rights and more protection for clubs and festivals, which are much more than just places of entertainment. These are also places of peaceful gathering, where the spirit of peace, love, unity and respect is expressed. These are protective spaces in which people can live out their freedom, creativity and individuality. We would like to inspire others to create such places everywhere.
We want an officially recognized holiday for our culture. Followed by a street festival on Straße des 17. Juni, where everyone is free to experience the diversity of electronic music culture, the new parade will annually celebrate this official holiday.
That we are a culture of diversity. That is a universal principle. Our scene consists of many genres and trends, collectives, groups, individualists… As special and unique as such facets are, put all together they form one big picture: Together we are the electronic music culture.
What if the parade doesn't take place?
If not enough funds can be raised for the big parade, which will be free of advertising, the amount collected will be used for charitable purposes in accordance with our statutes: for the development and administration of Intangible Cultural Heritage, for the support and education of arts and culture, for the protection and cultural recognition of electronic music, and much more.
You can visit our Fundraving model, the exhibition and our donation shop in Berlin from 13 January 2020 until the end of the year.
We are open for visitors Monday to Saturday from 10 to 20 o’clock.
